Covid lockdown measures, like school closures, were an exercise of raw, coercive political power. But even taken at face value, school closures deliberately sacrificed children – the demographic the disease threatened the least – for the ostensible benefit of older people, the demographic most at risk for the disease. That is reprehensible policymaking.
